HISTORY:

If you have never heard of Wendy Binks, a visit to her website is a must!

She is a very talented Australian artist, potter and author who is most well known for her depictions of Emu's, quirky Australian animals and children's books ... keep a look out for the best seller "Where's Stripey?"

For us, her artwork was a comedic reminder to myself of how I used to look as a youth! Somewhat stunned, a bit agressive and certainly with attitude - I have mellowed over the years though!

This bowl bought together our love of hand crafted arts with a bit of a chuckle, perhaps others know of someone who this dish could very easily represent!

The dish has been skillfully created, the main body being smooth raw terracotta and the central artwork on White based ceramic.

Wendy has inscribed her signature underneath and the original "information sticker" is also still present on the underside.

Oh, if you notice the White spot on the artwork photograph, that is the result of my photography (flash light bounce back) NOT a flaw with the artwork - in reality there is no White spot!

Our only other comment would be two small "spots" on the terracotta topside (look just above "the cranky one's" head! They are not very distinct marks or spots but they can be seen if looked at closely. Cleaning made no difference at all. We used to have this bowl sitting next to some lighted candles, perhaps a drop of wax from a candle - that's just a guess ...
