This is a NUDE offering!
What on earth does that mean? I hear you asking ... (while standing on one leg, with your head to one side, tongue drooping from the corner of your mouth and one eye closed)
Sometimes "things" happen, wild staff parties (Oh let the good times roll!) and careless handling ... yes, the cover was destroyed and I am now left with ONLY the vinyl (which I have repackaged into a NEW inner sleeve and NEW plain white heavy cardboard outer sleeve with protective cover.
NO pretty pictures, no credits to read - just great music!
I just detest the idea of great classic vinyl being buried in the ground just because it has no "clothes on" so I seek new homes for the occasional "nude" vinyl I find in my vast library of music.
So, in summary ... NUDE refers to these things outlined below
Vinyl record, exactly as described below
New inner plastic liner sleeve
New outer white cardboard cover** (completely unmarked)
New outer protective sleeve
** NO ORIGINAL COVER **
Although NUDE, there is no R rating! You can give this to your youngsters so that they can learn what REAL Blues are all about!
SPECIAL NOTE: This was released as a double album by Vanguard, this is ONLY Record #2 (the other record plus the cover have gone A.W.O.L.)
THE GREAT BLUES MEN - (Compilation)
Vanguard Records
Cat# VSD 26 (Record 2)
1972
US release
Supplied in a new pure White, plain heavy cardboard cover which has no writing on it at all.
New inner plastic liner sleeve
Vinyl is in good condition, visually inspected under a white halogen light source and I can see some light scratches or marks on either side, none of which look to be "dramatic". Just looking at the vinyl is not a great way to judge the condition (and I wanted to listen to this once again!) so I played the ENTIRE release, every single track on both sides, there are NO signifcant issues with surface noise or clicks/pops at all - not even on Side 2 with that mark, it seems to be all visual and not actually causing significant surface noise.
SPECIAL NOTE: I suspect the vinyl may still have a little "dirt in da grooves" as I have cleaned it thrice now with the Monk and although each time increases the listening pleasure, STILL little bits of gunk lift off from the grooves with each clean.
One of my favourite genres and if those deep down & dirty Delta Blues hit the spot for you, this album (actually half an album) will surely please!
