I have found two different manufacturers/batch codes in the spare parts drawer. The details are below and you can select which type you would like (if it is important to you) from the drop down menu on this page.
BC548 #1: Full part # on package C 548 PH75 variation C 548 PH70 (PH could be Philippines plant but that still doesnt tell us the manufacturer or it could simply be the batch code(s)
Although new unused, I have checked each transistor and all are fine. Here is the hFE spreads on each code
PH70 230 ~ 520
PH75 535 ~ 670
BC548 #2: Full part # on package ST BC 548 B (ST being STMicroelectronics)
This suffix appears to indicate the hFE range to be expected should be 200 ~ 450
I have tested the transistor and the hFE indicates 385
