HISTORY:
Yet another item extracted from my box of "that's really old" stuff! I never used the turntables that this suits (details below) but in my days of turntable restoration I kept on hand a lot of bits and pieces that "might come in handy"
Obviously this one didn't and it is now time for this stylus to "leave home" or the workshop more specifically.
The major point to note is that this one is a Sapphire tip, not the harder Diamond.
Goldring Audio Industries actually began operations from Germany in 1906 and then moved to England in 1933, they specialised in very good turntables and tone arm cartridges. This stylus was manufactured in UK, not Asia
GOLDRING - Turntable Cartridge Styli
Circa 1990's period
Supplied in the original packaging (a bit worse for wear but sealed and unopened) as shown in the photograph
NEW caressed the grooves on a piece of vinyl!
Intended to be compatible with a few Ronette's such as the 105, 106 & 208 and possibly others but the buyer would need to establish suitability themselves. Just keep in mind this is OLD technology, the cartridge was a ceramic type (not MM) and the tip (shape unknown) is made from Sapphire not Diamond (Sapphire being softer and having less "play time" than Diamond).
Here is a photograph of the Ronette cartridge with an S.44 SR stylus fitted
and here is the outline of the diamond tip styli version
Note the characteristic XXX stamped into the metal
Actually, the Ronette was a pretty poorly considered cartridge in its day (the 1960's), it would not be a good idea to regularly use your Ronette on a valuable piece of vinyl!
Tip material: Sapphire
COSMETIC CONDITION:
NEW Old Stock
Sealed, packaging completely intact (but cosmetically worn looking)
I have now placed this package into an additional SEALED clear plastic outer packet to ensure current condition is maintained - this how it will be received.
