HISTORY:
Very sad to see yet another very nice old English Garrard turntable become an 'organ donor' but at least this component may have a use to another Garrard enthusiast/restorer out there somewhere!
Ex the Laboratory Series 60 MKII which in a moment of madness lost it's head! Without the headshell and cartridge the turntable was pretty useless to me so it has become an organ donor.
While the turntable was a nicely engineering machine, there were "other issues" such as a broken tone arm rest - dratted plastic rears it's ugly head ...
So, let's get on with describing the spare part I am offering here - remember, I am offering 'organs' from the turntable, the 60 MKII is now a 'non-turntable', it is no more ... ceases to exist because I have carefully and completely dismantled it!
NOTE: Keep in mind that many Garrard turntable parts from this era are interchangeable with other GARRARD models - PLEASE CHECK YOUR SERVICE MANUAL TO ESTABLISH THE SUITABILITY OF THIS PART TO YOUR OWN TURNTABLE.
GARRARD 60 MKII TURNTABLE - Tonearm (Pickup Arm) & Lifter Arm
Material: Metal, some plastic on the lifter arm
Please examine the photographs, they show the ONLY components I am offering for the tonearm ...
Specially designed tubular tone arm (pickup arm)
Original wiring and the headshell "end" connector are intact and included
Pivot system which Garrard refers to as the pickup arm body & bearings. Included is the two side screws for the bearings.
Counterbalance weight with locking screw
I am also offering the side mounted tonearm lifting arm with the Black plastic "knob"
NO OTHER PARTS OF THE TONEARM OR LIFTING SYSTEM ARE OFFERED HERE
The most obvious omission is the Headshell and cartridge, they have "long gone"
The fine audio wires have been left ALMOST the original length, cut away from the Muting Switch.
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
CLEAN
NO damage to either arm
NO damage to the wiring
NO damage to the headshell connector inside the tubular arm
TESTING:
All was working fine, this AT60 has been with me for years as one of many turntables I liked to use in our previous business (audio post production - archival section) Once the headshell and cartridge went "elsewhere", this turntable was put away to be looked at "later" - working very nicely for many years.
I have now packed this tonearm assembly along with the lifting arm onto a bed of bubblewrap and then into a sealed clear plastic packet, where it now waits for another turntable to "live in"
