HISTORY:
Very sad to see yet another very nice old English Garrard turntable become an 'organ donor' but at least this component may have a use to another Garrard enthusiast/restorer out there somewhere!
Ex the Laboratory Series 60 MKII which in a moment of madness lost it's head! Without the headshell and cartridge the turntable was pretty useless to me so it has become an organ donor.
While the turntable was a nicely engineering machine, there were "other issues" such as a broken tone arm rest - dratted plastic rears it's ugly head ...
So, let's get on with describing the spare parts I am offering here - remember, I am offering 'organs' from the turntable, the 60 MKII is now a 'non-turntable', it is no more ... ceases to exist because I have carefully and completely dismantled it!
NOTE: Keep in mind that many Garrard turntable parts from this era are interchangeable with other GARRARD models - PLEASE CHECK YOUR SERVICE MANUAL TO ESTABLISH THE SUITABILITY OF THIS PART TO YOUR OWN TURNTABLE.
GARRARD 60 MKII TURNTABLE - Turntable Platter Parts
Miscellaneous Assorted Parts
Material: metal
This offering is a small assortment of "bits & pieces" associated with the platter but NOT the platter itself. I decided against offering the beautiful platter because it is a) heavy (expensive to ship) and b) the rubber mat (which is adhered to the metal and not easily removeable) has become degraded, the rubber is failing.
This means the assorted parts are as listed below and please look at the photograph too
a) Central metal decal LABORATORY SERIES AUTOMATIC TURNTABLE centre disc
b) Central locking spring clip
c) Lower ball bearing race (5 ball bearing) along with the metal washer.
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
CLEAN
I have cleaned up the ball bearing race, a lot of old grease hanging around here! Before use this will need to be relubricated properly.
The Aluminium screen printed decal has one small mark which would not be of concern to most users and the lettering is not worn at all.
I have now packed these bits & pieces into a sealed clear plastic packet awaiting a new turntable to rotate in (you spin me right 'round baby, right round, like a record baby, right 'round 'round 'round ...) Remember that song by Dead Or Alive?
