HISTORY:
Very sad to see yet another very nice old English Garrard turntable become an 'organ donor' but at least this component may have a use to another Garrard enthusiast/restorer out there somewhere!
Ex the Laboratory Series 60 MKII which in a moment of madness lost it's head! Without the headshell and cartridge the turntable was pretty useless to me so it has become an organ donor.
While the turntable was a nicely engineering machine, there were "other issues" such as a broken tone arm rest - dratted plastic rears it's ugly head ...
So, let's get on with describing the spare parts I am offering here - remember, I am offering 'organs' from the turntable, the 60 MKII is now a 'non-turntable', it is no more ... ceases to exist because I have carefully and completely dismantled it!
NOTE: Keep in mind that many Garrard turntable parts from this era are interchangeable with other GARRARD models - PLEASE CHECK YOUR SERVICE MANUAL TO ESTABLISH THE SUITABILITY OF THIS PART TO YOUR OWN TURNTABLE.
GARRARD 60 MKII TURNTABLE - Auto Changer Hardware (Topside)
Material: Metal, Plastic
The over arm is all metal, the shaft looks very much like Brass and the arm itself is diecast (606/3/70404 stamped into the underside)
The selector arm has a metal shaft but the remaining top section looks to be plastic or perhaps bakelite, I think the former though.
These are the two arms the user can see topside, I am not offering any of the linkages, gears etc underneath.
The long arm is referred to as the over-arm and the shorter arm is the selector arm/extension
Also included are two springs, a washer and circlip.
I know that many owners of these auto changer Garrards actually remove the auto changer mechanism because it is not considered "desirable" however to bring one of these turntables back to "original condition" you will need these.
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
CLEAN
NO damage to either arm
NO marks or scratches at all - very nice condition
The long shaft of the over arm has been cleaned because this is usually heavily greased and the originally grease was old and had gone "lumpy"
I have now packed these two arms (along with the small amount of hardware) into a sealed clear plastic packet awaiting a new turntable in need of these missing auto changer components.
