BACKGROUND:

We have decided to seek new homes for a portion of our souvenir teaspoons. The following teaspoon are NOT in boxes (they had been hanging in our display cabinets) but have been individually sealed in clear plastic packets (to reduce the Silver tarnishing which naturally occurs over time)

Why are they not in their boxes?

These have been removed from two of the wooden cabinets they hung in, the teaspoon boxes have long since been discarded. The two lovely display cabinets will also be offered when we progress along with advertising these souvenir contents.

This advertisement is designed so that you can read about each individual teaspoon and then select those that are of interest to you. An automatic built-in discounting system is in place which means the more teaspoons you buy, the lower the cost per teaspoon.

HISTORY:

We were avid travellers, picking up all sorts of things "arty" and of course, it's nice to have some momento about the places you have been to ... thus the teaspoons.

Some of these teaspoons date way way back in time ... we don't even remember some of them!

The range is varied and hopefully interesting to someone ...

This advertisement is for an assortment of our QUEENSLAND souvenir teaspoons, other states and miscellaneous souvenir items will be advertised separately (as we get the time)

All teaspoons are from the period 1970's ~ 1980's

The maker of this teaspoon is not printed or stamped anywhere although we have friends who have the same teaspoon and on theirs we can read the maker, SUNDOWNER. But even when viewed very closely, we cannot see this text.

The lower section of the head (front) has stamped into the metal the text

Cairns To Kuranda AUSTRALIA

Head is a matt finish, mono colours and the shaft and teaspoon bowl are nice and bright. This is an impressive teaspoon and quite different to most of the others we have.

This souvenir teaspoon relates to the famous (but now lost forever) Super Bee Honey Company which began operations in 1968 and was a major tourist attraction (free honey tasting!) however the company and tourist attraction closed down in 2008 - no longer is there a Super Bee, they have all flown back to the hive!
