LAUREL & HARDY'S Musical Moments

WALTON SUPER 8 FILMS

Catalogue # Unknown

200 Feet

Black & White

Sound (Mono)

Run time: approximately 8 minutes

Content:

Some may remember this very popular comedic pair, Stan and Ollie, from the 1930's period. This film provides some extracts of their films, in particular the song routines. Opening with a funny love scene, where Ollie makes his clumsy attempts to express his love to the lady his heart beats for. Oh no, not Red roses for Ollie as he hands the lady a bunch of Dandelions (how romantic!) and then forgets to serenade her ... very enjoyable comedy, even after 90 years!

COSMETIC CONDITION:

USED

CLEAN

Very good

Film stock and the Orange reel (AGFA made in Italy) are undamaged, there is a White leader film.

Outer all cardboard case is in good condition, no tears or graphic damage and no personal writing.

NO writing on the reel and just the front cover colour graphics, identifying the contents.

TESTING:

Test projector is the ELMO 1200 that I have on hand at the moment.

Film looks to be clean and in good condition, sprocket holes are not damaged.

I only ran the film for the first couple of minutes or so to observe the picture and sound.

The picture is really good, I loved watching this movie! I did notice though, to the right hand side the picture is slightly darker than to the left. This consistent at the beginning, never varying but then into the film it disappears. I don't know what causes this.

Sound is good and clean, both the funny dialogue and the "musical songs"

In my opinion, after this very brief test, I am happy that the film is as stated on the box and that the film stock appears to be in pretty good shape.

Anyway, I am very fastidious and careful with these films (I am afterall doing this on behalf of another person) and I have now packed it back into the original cardboard box AND sealed the film within clear plastic - waiting for a Super 8 film enthusiast to "enjoy"!
