HISTORY:

My "world" is 'the arts' and more specifically, music, artwork and hand crafted/decorated chinaware's.

I am not a film enthusiast but an associate has asked me to find new owners for THEIR large collection of photographic and film items ... this is one of those items.

While the world of 8mm/Super 8mm is not my area of expertise, I am doing my best to establish the condition of each item that I am listing.

I tend to be quite detailed in my item descriptions, please READ all the details to decide if this item may interest you.

Now, on with the description ...

CATCH THE JOY (Devils Of The Sand Dunes) - Super 8 Film

IE International Films (Italy)

Catalogue # unknown

Released 1970's

Colour

Sound (Mono)

Run time: approximately 8 minutes

Another very funky '70's beginning of this film, psychedelic title graphics and pumping pop~rock music ... even before the film begins the adrenaline is pumping!

Yes, its a very action packed film centred around the antics of those who like to do crazy things in the sand dunes with their buggies, motorbikes and even street cars. Some amazing filming here, the action is well captured. Some sequences are simply amazing while others (such as the cars burying themselves in the sand as the wheels spin like crazy) are more to provide light relief.

Out of all the short films from IE International that I have viewed over time, this (for me) was the most enjoyable.

Accompanied by a running spoken word commentary

COSMETIC CONDITION:

USED

CLEAN

Very good

Film stock and the Grasso (Made in Italy) smokey Grey reel are undamaged, a leader is fitted

Outer all plastic hinged case is in good condition, with no cracks or pieces missing. Some light scuff marks to the front and rear though.

NO personal names or other writing on the case or reel

TESTING:

Tested with the ELMO ST 1200 I have available, and away we go ....

I have viewed/listened to around 2 minutes off the reel for testing

Leader is in good condition

Another film where the colour is actually quite good (compared to some of the other films I have viewed recently), yes there is a slight shift to the Red end of town but the Blues, Greens, Yellows are still present.

Sound is good, crisp and clear so I had no trouble following commentary

SPECIAL NOTE:

I always include a couple of "off screen" snapshots of each reel as it is played  ... now my digital camera is antiquated (colour balance? what's that - like I said, this is one very OLD camera that I currently use) and it's limitations are definitely showing up in these sample photographs.

I take the screen shot in very low light levels, the camera flash is turned off (otherwise the picture is flooded with White) and the camera shutter speed is very slow.

This means I have trouble getting sharp photographs, especially when there is movement on the screen and I have noticed that after viewing quite a few films now, that my poor OLD digital camera is tending to shift images towards the Red or Yellow end of town, - in real life the on-screen picture is not as Red as recorded in the photographs

I am very fastidious and careful with these Super 8 films and I have now packed the film package within sealed, clear plastic while it awaits a new owner

USED EXACTLY as described
