HISTORY:
My "world" is 'the arts' and more specifically, music, artwork and hand crafted/decorated chinaware's.
I am not a film enthusiast but an associate has asked me to find new owners for THEIR large collection of photographic and film items ... this is one of those items.
While the world of 8mm/Super 8mm is not my area of expertise, I am doing my best to establish the condition of each item that I am listing.
I tend to be quite detailed in my item descriptions, please READ all the details to decide if this item may interest you.
I wondered about this one, the front cover and partial rear print looks to be in German, however once viewed I discovered this does have an English soundtrack!
Now, on with the description ...

THE CAIN MUTINY (1954)
Set in WWII, a naval ship has a new captain who is "different" to what the officers are used to - they believe he is mentally unstable and plan to take control of the ship.
Housed in a heavy plastic, hinged case
White leader film fitted although it is very short!
7" 400' Blue PLiO MAGIC plastic reel (Made in USA)
Colour
Sound
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
CLEAN
Film stock and the reel are undamaged
The case and front & rear cover text and graphics are in good condition, although a lot of the text appears to be in German.
One small crack to the rear of the case (hinged section) but this does not affect the integrity of the case overall.
NO odd smells coming off the film i.e vinegar type odours
NO personal names or other writing on the case or the film reel
TESTING:
Test projector is the ELMO 1200 that I have on hand at the moment.
Film looks to be clean and in good condition, sprocket holes are not damaged.
The colour of this film has degraded but not too seriously ... meaning that Reds or Pinks can tend to dominate but plenty of the Blues, Browns, Greens etc are still visible.
The sound is fine, clear and crisp - no trouble following the story line
In my opinion, after this "test viewing", the indicated contents of this case are correct and the film stock looks to be of a reasonable "technical" condition.
I am very fastidious and careful with these films and I have now packed it back into the original plastic hinged case AND sealed in clear plastic while it waits for a Super 8 film buff to enjoy yet another Humphrey Bogart movie (or selected scenes at least) from the 1950's
