ROYAL DOULTON - Soup Bowl
Circa 1930's
Pattern: D6089
Creamy/White opaque ceramic, meaning that if held to the light, you cannot see a shadow of your fingers through the material
Actually the glazing used appears to be of the "Honey Gold" variety, giving a slight Yellowish look to the base ceramic.
Hand decorated
Art Deco styled pattern design features bold, imaginatively shaped flowers and foliage. There is no finish to the scalloped rim i.e no paints or Gold gilding is used
This soup bowl was part of a much larger dinner set that has slowly dwindled over the years due to breakages - now just this soup bowl left, an orphan if you like.

This is a photograph of the actual item's backstamp, NOT a cut//paste from another photograph online (I have seen others do this!)
It may be difficult to determine the colours ... the primary backstamp is a dark Green with the K below the backstamp being a Brown. Over to the right side is a Blue "dot" which we guess is the decorators mark.

NO chips
NO discolouration to the artwork
NO wear is apparent to the artwork
NO fleabites observed or felt
After 90+ years, people and objects start to "crack or fray" at the edges and in the world of ceramics this is referred to as crazing. Surprisingly, this soup bowl does NOT exhibit any signs of crazing (wet or dry) - truly amazing.
There are very light scratch marks inside the bowl, it has afterall been used, but none of these marks are of any consequence.
