These are brand new - old stock motors
World reknown high quality motor designer/manufacturer Escap from Switzerland. After doing some research I have come to the conclusion that Escap is now known as Portescap and it seems that the original Escap code numbers have all changed. I have been unable to find the specifications of this motor/gearbox so the following description is the best information I can offer on these.
Escap DC Motor with gearhead
Markings are exactly as below:
Motor:
escap
SR 581 A0
swiss made
39.65
Gearhead:
escap
50 t/m 1:8,4
swiss made
Metal bodies, look to be stainless steel
Plastic base of the motor, two pins protruding with one marked positive and the other negative
Dimensions:
Motor & Gearhead diameter: 25mm
Motor & Gearhead length: 42mm
Gearhead shaft: 3mm x 6mm long round shaft (no flat spot)
COSMETIC CONDITION:
As new, supplied in a sealed bag
TESTING:
We originally purchased these for some "side-line" robotics experimentation but in the end went with Maxon, these Escap's were not designed into the project.
Idle/Cold DC resistance: 20.8 Ohm
Test DC voltage applied: 7.75V (weird yes but it was all I had to hand for testing at the time) - I have seen literature indicating the voltage range these motors are designed for but we originally selected this model for 12V DC operation.
Current drawn at 7.75V = 70mA
I have no way of measuring the rotational speed at the test voltage, it is not extremely high speed but way too fast for me to estimate. Tons of torque, I cannot stop the rotation by hand.
Noticed a bit of gear noise when in operation, not terrible but it is there (whirring). From memory we chose these motors because they use metal gearing (planetary? I cannot remember)
Pretty sure this is a brush DC motor.
Great for robotic motion or mechanical movement experimentation
