The buyer must establish beforehand that this remote suits their own Olympus equipment, we had an E1 a long time ago and used the RM-2 with that camera but I am pretty sure it will also work fine with other E Series cameras - anyone considering this remote should CHECK FOR THEMSELVES FIRST

Try looking in the user manual, if you have one.
If the manual is not available, try to see if the remote button layout looks "right" compared to your old remote.
Unlike domestic entertainment equipment manufacturers, Olympus is pretty good at providing a "universal" type of camera control remote, this makes it a lot easier for the user!

To access the battery you need to unscrew a tiny screw in the centre of the rear (don't lose it!) and it is easy to change the battery, you use a CR2025 3V Lithium. These are very easy to find if you need to change the battery in the future. Don't let the conductive rubber contacts (where the button is) get dirty though!
I have installed a brand new CR2025 (for my testing) and decided to leave it inside the remote - so this is supplied with a "fresh" battery, ready to go
I have tested the remote with another Olympus I have here and all is good, operates as it should.
To keep this remote in "NEW" condition, I have resealed it in clear plastic but there will be no original box supplied for this one.
