Sorting through our very LARGE collection of records, the "little one's" (singles or also called 45's)

This children's record was still completely sealed with the original retail sticker on the outer wrapping. I wished to check what was inside so I have removed the seal.

Lucky that I did because this record & book has had the incorrect record label applied to Side 1!

I know from my stamp collecting days that this sort of misprint or incorrectly labelled product can be of special interest to collectors ...

A LITTLE GOLDEN BOOK & RECORD (Disneyland) - Thumbelina

Cat # 206

Circa 1976

Printed in USA

I will only describe the condition as "very good" because I am extremely conservative in my descriptions and although most would say "mint", I will not!

Cover, front and rear plus the 24 page book are all in very good condition.

NO colour degradation

NO marks

NO creasing

NO tears

NO foxing to the paper

NO mildew or other nasties!

SPECIAL NOTE: MISLABELED PRODUCT!

Side 1 record label is totally incorrect!

Side 2 record label is correct

The record label attached by the manufacturer to Side 1 is marked as ...

SIDE 1 358

WALT DISNEY PRESENTS

JULES VERNE'S

20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA

This incorrectly labelled side of the record is in fact Side 1 of Thumbelina

The vinyl record (7 inch but play at 33rpm, like a 12" audio album) is in very good condition. Visually inspected under a bright white halogen light source and I can see NO marks or scratches at all. Surface has a high sheen.

I do not like the idea of the record just sitting inside the internal side pocket of the book so I have added a new inner record sleeve to protect it

I then played these charming stories from this record/book set, going back in time almost 50 years!

Surface noise was pretty well undetectable, extremely quiet play. Certainly no clicks or pops either ....

I have also fitted a new outer plastic sleeve to maintain the condition.

I remember those days (just) when Mum would sit down in the lounge room on the "sofa" with the record dropping down onto the turntable in the PYE stereogram! We had a fancy stereogram, which allowed you to stack a number of records and it would play them one by one. We would both read along together while the story was told on the record but unlike this record, often accompanied by clicks and pops! Nice, "cosy" times back then!

TRACKS: Thumbelina both sides of the record (accompanied by well played, suitable folk style music - performers unknown)

I followed the story along in the 24 page book, identical with the spoken word. When the story finishes, the song continues for approximately another minute

Absolutely not a whisper about Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea!
