If you are really serious about your electronics, whether you are a professional or hobbyist, a good library of electronic magazines is a must have.
Why are these magazines a 'must-have'?
Wealth of design and concept ideas
Interesting news in the world of electronics, although "old news"
Keeping up to date (or looking backwards at how things used to be done)
Circuit design concepts (see the approaches that others have used to create a new design or solve a problem)
Projects to build, just for fun
Nostalgic advertisements! Oh my, lots of these - some of the gear is now so dated or the companies themselves have disappeared into the "mists of time"
ELECTRONICS TODAY INTERNATIONAL (Commonly known as simply ETI) was a monthly magazine that often had excellent articles and design ideas, projects to build.
Do not mistake this issue with the Australian releases, this is the United Kingdom release
Used to set the bank back a bit though, these were all imported and cost a small fortune at the local newsagents (when they finally arrived!)
SPECIAL NOTE: Interesting article about AI, being a topic of much discussion at the moment. Here you can read all about the theories surrounding Artificial Intelligence back 25 years ago ...
Also amazing is those electronic component advertisements, where the supplier lists EVERY SINGLE DEVICE in a table form, with the prices next to the part number. This must have been a logistical nightmare for the advertiser and unthinkable these days with the steady increase in prices on an almost weekly basis.
ELECTRONICS TODAY INTERNATIONAL (UK) - 1997
Month: July
Please see photograph 2 for the contents of this issue
CLEANED as it was a little dirty to begin with, now it is "acceptable"
Front cover and rear cover are in good condition
The spine has seen some wear n tear, still secure though
ALL pages are accounted for and present (none have been ripped out of the mag!)
ALL pages are clean and free from smells or mildew with the paper stock still a nice clean White (no foxing observed)
To maintain the condition of this single issue, I have now sealed the magazine within clear plastic
