If you are really serious about your audio, video and electronics, whether you are a professional or hobbyist, a good library of magazines is a must have.
Why are these magazines a 'must-have'?
Wealth of information about current trends
Interesting news in the world of audio, video & electronics, it can be very handy to look back over a review of older equipment.
Keeping up to date (or looking backwards at how things used to be done)
Nostalgic advertisements! Oh my, lots of these - some of the gear is now so dated or the companies themselves have disappeared into the "mists of time"
EXAMPLE: The reviewed LOTH-X Othello turntable (RRP 2003 A$3300 without a cart.) has long since stopped production due to LOTH-X "closing shop", not because of product quality but their sales distribution channels sucked!
AUDIO & VIDEO LIFESTYLE (AVL) was a locally produced publication by Lorane Publishing, Avalon NSW
AUDIO & VIDEO LIFESTYLE - Early 2000's
Issue: AVL-120
This magazine dwells on reviews of high end audio and video equipment for the domestic environment, but there is also an interesting piece about the Asian hi end audio market, where quality of product is not everything but instead it must be high priced! Prestige over quality!
