As the saying goes....
"A picture is worth a thousand words"
This book contains Australian historical moments 'frozen in time' but does not leave the reader guessing with a good amount of explanatory information with each photograph or picture

Large format 280mm x 220mm x 15mm thick
Hardcover (NOTE: The slip cover is NOT included, it became damaged and was not considered worthwhile to supply with the book)
Covering historically relevant photographs or artists drawings from 1880 (Ned Kelly gang destruction) right through to 1975 with the collapse of the Tasman Bridge in Hobart.
There is no index of photographs but the 'flow' of the book is easy to follow as the events depicted are ordered chronologically.
Many events are recorded with photographs here, quite a few will bring surprises such as the photograph in 1944 when the government tried to censor news publications and workers being threatened by Police with a weapon when they tried to deliver newspapers to the paper sellers. Harold Holt with his family at the seaside, one year prior to his disappearance at sea in 1967.
Flooding is not a new event on the Australian landscape (although now becoming more frequent and severe), amazing photographs of the great Melbourne flood of 1972 with raging waters flowing in the centre of Melbourne, Elizabeth Stree and a couple of years later, the massive flooding in Brisbane and Sydney.
So many more photographs, so much interesting history here ...

The front slip cover is M.I.A (Missing In Action)
The hardcover is in very good condition, with no corner damage or bending.
NO spine damage, pages securely in place
NO personal writing outside or inside the book
MOST pages are white in colour although I noticed a couple which have signs of light 'foxing' - where the paper reacts with the environment and slowly develops brown or yellow spots, eventually (after a very long time, depending upon the quality of paper used) the paper will turn quite brown in colour but that is a long time off yet and how the book is stored and in what type of environment makes a big difference.
NO pages are missing
NO tears to any pages
Since taking this out of our bookshelves and having a look through for one last time, it is now sealed in cello wrap (NOT shrink wrap which can damage the paper stock)
