HISTORY
Ex our workshop test equipment, these 910 Ohm Rikenohms were mounted in our "ladder loads", called that because they looked like a ladder! Multiple resistors wired on a custom PCB in a long strip with some resistors in parallel and other sections in series so that by selectin various sections we could create resistive load sources with high current capabilities to test power supplies, battery chargers and audio power amplifiers.
Sustainability is the name of the game! Anything (that has been tested and still functioning properly) should be repurposed creating saving in wasted Ee and reducing the poisoning our environment when items are buried in the earth at the local tip needlessly.
Never heard of Ee? It is a concept that creates a measurement of ALL things (not just electronics) that humans have made and the energy used in obtaining the raw material, processing the materials right through to a finished product and even should include the shipping of the item to the distributors/retailers.
If you would like to know more about Ee values, please take a look HERE
RIKENOHM resistors are well known in the audio world (now ceased production though) and we used a lot of these in designs requiring power handling (power supplies, audio output stages and cross-over networks) resistors of high quality.
RIKENOHM - Power Resistor
Ceramic Cement body
Part # RS5FS
910Ω (Ohm)
5% Tolerance
5 Watts maximum power handling
Heat resistant
Moisture resistant
Corrosion resistant
DIMENSIONS:
8mm diameter x 24mm length
Axial tinned copper wire leads which were mounted horizontally onto the ladder load boards, meaning the leads have been cut and now measure 10mm each side, when mounted horizontally once again the resistor body will clear the board substrate 2~3mm
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
NO current stress signs (discolouration of the coating)
NO body damage
Leads are a bit dull these days (oxidisation) but still perfectly serviceable
TESTING:
I always like to check my "pulls" before offering them elsewhere so I have tested EVERY ONE of these resistors ... all are fine
DC resistance band range 917 ~ 918 Ohm (well within the 5% tolerance)
Once pulled off the boards, these have been placed into a sealed clear plastic packet. They will supplied in the same manner to the new owner
