If you can remember quite a while back in time, Radio Luxembourg was different to all the other radio broadcasting stations in UK and Europe. They especially came to the attention of the younger generation because all radio broadcasts in UK were controlled by the BBC but Radio Luxembourg provided an alternative source of 'new' music. The station has had a colourful history and is credited as a forerunner of 'pirate radio' which the British Government tried their utmost to shut down, unsuccessfully. Times they are a changin' (as a famous performer once said) and eventually the station closed down in 1992
This compilation album contains many of the most popular songs played by the station in the 1960's period

Cat# GGL 0208
Golden Guineas Series
MONO recording
UK release
Heavy cardboard cover is in good condition, meaning there are no tears, no personal writing, no seam splits, light edgewear although there is greater wear to the opening edge from normal handling.
Included is the original paper sleeve (in very good condition) for nostalgic reasons. Lots of promo's for other albums in the Golden Guineas Series, all costing the princely sum of $2 (equivalent roughly to 20 Shillings)
New plastic inner sleeve (record is inserted into this, not the old paper sleeve)
Vinyl is in good condition, visually inspected and I can see just a couple of very light ~ light scratches on either side but just looking at your vinyl is not a very good way of judging the condition (particularly this much 'harder' older vinyl) so I then played the ENTIRE album, both sides and all tracks. There were no issues with surface noise nor clicks/pops of any significance - just the occasional click (at low level) but no dramas at all. Nice play, very 1960's popular music of the day
New outer protective sleeve
