FEEL THE BEAT - Various Original Artists (2x Record Compilation)

Concept Records (Australia)

Cat# CC0049

1986

Australian release

Cover is in good condition, meaning that there are no seam splits, no personal writing, no tears and only light edgewear from handling. There is light graphic damage to the front top right corner where a previous retail price sticker has been poorly removed. Double vinyl but squashed into a single cover (not gatefold).

New inner clear plastic sleeves

Both vinyl condition are described in great detail below. While Record 1 is great, Record 2 is the 'poor cousin' and has been abused! Just taking a look at your vinyl (especially in a retail record shop) doesn't cut it, you need to actually play the entire vinyl to make an accurate judgement on the condition.

SLIPSTREAM ....Remember those days when you could go into a "booth" and play the record before buying it? I remember those days from the late 1960s ~ 70's and of course they are now long gone but I DO play every single record I offer new homes to ....

Oh, while this photograph is just slightly before my time ... it's interesting. All the teenagers clamouring to listen to the latest hit record at the record store - notice 'Pops' the DJ!

So enough of the waffle, let's get down to business ...

RECORD 1

Plays very good both sides with low surface noise and only the occasional click/pop at low levels - great play

RECORD 2

What a mess! I am including this record in the interests of sustainability with the possiblity that the new owner may love to play one of their favourite tracks, if it is one that is not damaged by the previous owner.

This record has NOT been well handled, meaning the use of the tonearm has been careless and they have created a number of nasty scratches on either side of this record.

Here is a blow-by-blow account of the playback on Record 2

SIDE ONE

Track 1 - (STARSHIP - We Built This City)

POOR playback with multiple mistracks, perhaps only useful for sampling

Track 2 - (MR MISTER - Kyrie)

Just ONE mistrack in the entire track, short and not a loud clunk but a mistrack none-the-less

Track 3 (FIVE STAR - System Addict)

This is a GOOD play, no issues with surface noise nor click/pops

Track 4 (JANET JACKSON - What Have You Done For Me Lately)

This is a GOOD play, there are no issues with surface noise or clicks/pops

Track 5 (EL DEBARGE - Who's Johnny)

This is a GOOD play, there are no issues with surface noise or clicks/pops

SIDE TWO

A few clearly visible scratches on this side, let's see how it plays ...

Track 1 (BILLY OCEAN - Tough Get Going)

This is an OK play, no issues with surface noise but there is at times a few clicks of a low level

Track 2 (FAR CORPORATION - Stairway To Heaven)

This track is GOOD (minus) playback, surface noise level is fine but there is a slowly increasing level of clicks as the song progresses but NO mistracking

Track 3 (POINTER SISTERS - Twist My Arm)

This track is GOOD (minus) playback, the surface noise is not a problem but the medium level clicks continue from the previous track until approximately halfway through and then the clicks stop - nice play from then on ...

Track 4 (DAZZ BAND - Let It Whip)

This track is a GOOD play, surface noise is not an issue and there are just a couple of low level clicks throughout the song

Track 5 (COMMODORES - Nightshift)

This track is GOOD (minus) playback, once again it's not an issue with the surface noise but those pesky click click click's - generally of a low volume but annoying. Fortunately no mistracking though.
