HISTORY:
My "world" is 'the arts' and more specifically, music, artwork and hand crafted/decorated chinaware's.
I am not a photographer but an associate has asked me to find new owners for THEIR large collection of photographic and film items ... this is one of those items
BILORA - Monopod
Made in Germany
Model 2007
1990's (estimated and based on the country of manufacture showing as "Germany", after reunification, and not East or West Germany)
Cosmetic and functional condition is good
Construction materials: primarily brass, with a small amount of aluminium and some plastic
NOTES ABOUT USE:
All extending sections are made of brass, each sliding into the other.
An aluminium sleeve is moved upwards to allow for the extension or collapsing of each section.
Unlike other monopods, you CANNOT reliably lock each section in a "partially" extended position, this monopod needs to be fully extended to lock in place properly.
The head is very basic, just the screw for your camera, no locks and no cork pad to rest upon
Folded: 390mm
Fully extended: 1540mm
Each section securely locks when extended, except the very lowest section (near the foot) which does have a very slight movement. It stays locked in place but there is just a slight lateral movement noted.
Ball joint at the base
Ball joint at the head - lockable positioning
Carrying weight: 500g
This is quite a bit heavier than the SLIK monopod HERE, I guess due to the use of brass in the sections (stronger but heavier)
COSMETIC CONDITION:
CLEAN
NO degrading of the plastic trigger button, head lock or the ball-joint foot.
NO marks or scratches to the BILORA labelling on the monopod
Always stored in the original outer box, which is in good condition
Movement of the brass sections and the aluminium locking ring is acceptable, being smooth and reliable.
MINOR ISSUES:
The manual shutter trigger does not work correctly - it appears to have a piece missing, however the trigger is very easy to remove completely, leaving the basic monopod for use.
Slight lateral movement of the lowest section once extended and locked
No other issues observed
