Nice (but older model) flash unit from Canon.
The built-in flash on your camera is all well and good for "fill" lighting situations but far more flexibility in your lighting is possible when using an accessory such as this 430EX
Canon Flash
Model: 430EX
Shoe fitting to the top of your camera
These are very versatile flash units with a lot of technical capabilites, far too much to list here, however here is a link to a useful product review

ITEMS SUPPLIED:
Canon 430EX Flash Unit
4x AA NiMh batteries (2x Eveready Energiser 2x Varta) - these are rechargeable batteries
Vanson wall plug 4x AA or AAA battery charger to suit
You can use Alkaline AA batteries but it really doesn't make sense, you cannot recharge those batteries and it is far more cost effective to use NiMh batteries (and the flash unit becomes ready much faster too)
User Manual - CD FORMAT (We have lost the original booklet, so I have a copy on a CD which can then be printed out if desired, 38 pages)
ITEMS NOT SUPPLIED:
Originally this unit had a little bag for holding batteries etc, NOT SUPPLIED
The original box has long gone - NOT SUPPLIED
COSMETIC CONDITION:
Excellent, clean body and no physical damage
To be honest, we barely used this flash unit as most photography was outdoors in full daylight for our business promotional purposes (yonks ago!)
Tilt Swivel of the head workings fine (and locks in place properly!)
TESTING:
Used by us quite a while back (this is an older but still extremely useful model, they are now up to 430EX Mk III) and it never missed a beat
Tested today after being put away a few years back
Used 4x NiMh fully charged AA batteries for testing (these WILL be supplied along with a charger for them)
Goes into "READY" mode very quickly, checked communication with the camera and also various settings at the flash unit - all good
Test fired the flash, no problems and ready to fire again in only 3~4 seconds (freshly charged batteries)
