Offered as-is
See my notes in the description regarding a plastic section in the front of the sensor which I suspect is missing
Quality product, 1960's era but good solid West German design/build - before reunification
Dorn have been making photographic accessories for a very long time, although this light meter dates from the period 1960 - 1970's
Very similar in appearance to the Prixcolor that was released in 1962 but this one that I have does not have Prixcolor on the front and the black concentric circles are gone (just plain silver colour)
Stamped into the plastic on the rear
Made In Germany W.
Dorn Neustadt W. (thats a small town in Germany)
Reflecting/averaging measurement type
This light meter has been well cared for/preserved.
Protected within a very heavy clear perspex casing, easy to remove the light meter though
Secured within this casing by 2x wing nuts - note that one wing nut is missing
The light meter has metal calibrated dials, plastic body
This is self powered - NO BATTERIES ARE REQUIRED (these use a selenium photo cell to measure and display light)
Fully functioning
I do suspect that a small plastic piece on the front of the light meter has gone astray - I am pretty sure there used to a small plastic piece fitted which allowed for the measurement of incidental or reflected light
Obsolete equipment for photography work but a great piece of history to have in your collection - they don't make light meters like this anymore.
