HISTORY OF THIS CAMERA
My professional and private background is all about electronics, audio and 'The Arts' but NOT photography! My photographs on this website will atest to that (it's the best I can do with the equipment I have!)
Over the years, I have gathered together a bunch of strange camera's (some are odd looking) and some accessories such as battery chargers etc. In my professional capacity we worked with some broadcast Betacam video gear and over the last 25+ years this consumer grade early digital camera equipment has come into my hands from well meaning associates also in the broadcast industry. I have very little interest in old consumer camera's, (film or digital) and the accessories so instead of this gear just sitting in a sealed plastic box under the house, I am seeking new homes for this gear - someone who may find a use for this equipment (museum piece, spare parts or heaven's forbid - use it!)
I am not a photography or video enthusiast (audio was my 'bag') so this camera is offered as-is (but described completely to the best of my abilities)
Before anyone asks .... Sorry but the old film cameras have now all found new homes. Just a couple of "pretty ordinary" consumer compact cameras and a number of various Handycam style cameras - see the separate advertisements for each camera, they will go live once I have checked out their condition (as best I can) and tested them (if I can)
PLEASE read the description below completely and decide if this camera may be of interest to you.
There are no returns or refunds offered, this is second hand gear and offered 'as-is"
SONY Camera

Sony lenses
3.2 Megapixels
Released to the market around 2003
Made in Japan (metallic label underneath)
Supplied with the carry strap
NO batteries supplied (2x AA size)
NO memory stick supplied
NO carry case could be found
NO lens cap (when a slide is operated on the front of the camera, it covers the lens system for protection)
Weight: 150g
Dimensions: 105mm wide x 58mm front to back and 57mm high
COSMETIC CONDITION:
Clean
NO camera body damage at all, barely any 'scuff' marks or scratches on what appears to be a metallic body. Light 'aluminium oxidisation' noticed around the rim of the front lens area. Looks to me as though there should be a rear cover for the ports (DC in, AV out & USB) - this cover is missing.
Rear small LCD screen is not damaged and 'looks' fine, no spotting or cracks to the screen.
I looked through the viewfinder and I didn't notice any issues with 'fog' or some sort of growth inside the view finder system.
I am unable to look closely at the main lens because of the issue mentioned below under TESTING, the front lens protective cover is shut tight.
NO issues noticed with the 'user controls' such as many push buttons and the one rotary lever.
Battery compartment lid works fine and inside it all looks nice and clean.
External ports on one side of the camera (video out, USB) do not have a cover, but the ports look to be fine/clean.
TESTING:
This seems to be a 'dead one' perhaps useful for spare parts or it is also possible I am doing something wrong!
I have no memory stick, so testing was made without one fitted
Inserted 2x AA batteries (first I tried Alkaline and then NiMH rechargeables) neither of them gave any life to the camera. It took me a little time to find the POWER button on the top (a bit obscure in my opinion) but no matter what, I had no signs of life from the camera.
The battery contacts are clean (lid and right inside) so it doesn't seem to be a contact issue.
Perhaps (me thinking out aloud) the memory stick needs to be in place before it will power on - I have no idea!
This means I cannot power up the camera at all - no power, no life!
So, in summary, this really dated SONY digital camera looks in fair condition but it is offered completely untested and most likely only suitable as spare parts or in someone's "vintage digital camera" collection.
Since checking out the camera and writing up this description, I have now sealed it in plastic, to maintain the present condition and it will be supplied in this manner.
