HISTORY:
Rabbits, such a beautiful pet for many but a pest to the farmers working the land.
This piece of porcelain art is personal for us, we had the most beautiful, cuddly and responsive (well, as responsive as a rabbit can get!) mini-lop but very sadly, she passed away. We are now preparing emotionally and physically to have another new mini-lop join our family and are cleaning up some of our ornaments with a "rabbit theme" that do not fit the mini-lop "look"
Of course the rabbits depicted in this fine, hand decorated art are not mini-lops and so as not to offend our new arrival, this "rabbit-nalia" needs to find another "rabbit lovers" home to live it.
This porcelain is actually very well made and hand decorated, extensively detailed decoration.
The company Regency Fine Arts is English based and although they began production in England, apparently their contemporary product manufacturing was moved offshore. We do not know where this porcelain art was made as there is no indication on the tag nor underneath - it would be reasonable to assume this is an offshore piece (otherwise surely they would proudly stamp it "Made In England"
REGENCY FINE ARTS (England) - Porcelain Art
Series: Tales Of The Warren
Name: Cheeky Rabbits On The Tractor ***
*** We named it with this title because there is no indication on the tag what this piece might be called and we have found no-one online offering a piece like this with a tag or box so we could identify what it was called.
Why this name?
Rabbits, to a farmer, are a pest so what do the naughty, mischiveous rabbits do when the farmer is away? Take ownership of his tractor, like they are the boss and the tractor is now theirs! Our dear little mini-lop was a bit like that, playful but at times very "cheeky"
We have no idea who designed this art or undertook the skilled decoration. The detail is quite amazing e.g tractor tyre thread marks in the ground, undersides of the rabbit's feet are decorated, carefully painted even in the most difficult to reach areas are just some of the things we noticed when we got this piece.
DIMENSIONS:
We would describe this porcelain art as being of a medium size, it measures
210mm long x 100mm wide x 160mm high
CONDITION:
USED (although for all intent and purposes, "as new" condition)
CLEAN (always been stored in one of our glass cabinets, behind closed doors)
NO crazing at all
NO cracks of any kind
NO chips - Yes, not even those rabbits ears (which are so delicate) - no pieces have broken off at all anywhere on this piece
NO discolouration - colouring is bright and vibrant, very "fresh" looking!
The base has had a sheet of non-slip material applied so when this placed on a flat surface, it will stay there!
This piece is now in a sealed clear plastic package waiting for a new bunny lover to care for them!
