Traditional soup taking bowl, no spoon required!
NORITAKE - 6 Inch Handled Soup Bowl
Made In Japan
Design: Rosemist
Based on the backstamp design/layout, this porcelain item was produced between 1963 & 1968
Platinum rim & handles decoration
Intended to allow the user to drink their soul by holding in the hands and tip to drink, no spoon was used. Now this doesn't really fit with Japanese culture as most often soup bowls have no handles at all e.g Miso bowls so I tend to think these designs have been "Westernised" for the American market.
White porcelain base
Translucent (you can see your fingers through the piece when held up to a light)
Measures 6 inches diameter at the top lip
