HISTORY:
Hmmmm, not much to tell here .... this sugar bowl from a Japanese maker (actually we have TWO of these) ended up in our collection of Japanese porcelain but it doesn't "fit" with our current collecting taste.
We don't know why but it appears that there was a "fad" in Japan for Strawberry themed sugar bowls in the 1980's ~ 1990's but no idea why and we fail to see the connection but there you have it!
We also never could find out anything worthwhile about FOCUS, so not much information there either.
The reference to Snow White Porcelain is a commonly used phrase in the world of Japanese porcelain, we would just say "bright white"
So that's about all the information we have, now these sugar bowls are looking for new homes
FOCUS - Sugar Bowl (With Lid)
Tacky white plastic spoon to suit is included (this is the spoon that came with the sugar bowl originally)
Design: A Strawberry! but lacking any colouration, just "snow white" all over
BACKSTAMP DETAILS:

DIMENSIONS:
82mm diameter at the widest point
90mm high
45mm base diameter
COSMETIC CONDITION:
We have two of these snow white porcelain sugar bowls, for the sake of giving an accurate evaluation of the condition I will call them A) and B)
A)
CLEAN
NO cracks
NO chips
NO discolouration to the snow white porcelain
Two very small marks or flaws on the lid, one is a very light brown mark which appears to be UNDER the glaze and the other looks very much like a pinhole in the glaze (glazing error) NOT a fleabite.
The bowl section has no marks or defects that we could see.
B)
CLEAN
NO cracks
NO chips
NO discolouration to the snow white porcelain
Both the bowl section and it's lid appear to have no marks or defects that we could observe.
Obviously, if someone was to purchase just the one sugar bowl, the best condition sugarbowl (B) would be supplied.
