HISTORY:
We are cleaning out our "overgrown" collection of Wedgwood items and regrettably this Basalt Black Jasperware must find a new home. Why? Space is lacking and we have been extremely fortunate to have obtained some gorgeous Red and Yellow very hard to find Wedgwood .... so this heart trinket dish has been "shown the door" and now waits for a new owner to love and care for it ...

Jasperware: Basalt Black
White relief features a John Flaxman neoclassical design of the mythological flying horse, Pegasus in the central area. Pegasus (from Greek mythology) these days is widely considered to represent high flying imagination or poetic inspiration.
The artwork is framed with a wreath design around the outer edges
We believe this piece dates from 1979 - 1985 era
Makers stamp (impressed into the stoneware)

103mm widest point x 110mm vertical x 18mm height
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
CLEAN
NO chips
NO discolouration (the Black is consistent front and back)
NO cracks
NO damage to the relief artwork
It is not 'really' old but a great example of Basalt Black Jasperware and quite different to the 'stock standard' Wedgwood Blue that is not difficult to find
