WEATHERBY & SONS Dinner Plate 10"
Hanley - Falcon Works pottery
Trade marked by Weatherby as "Falcoln Ware"
1934 ~ Late 1940's
Opaque (you cannot see light through the sides)
White/Cream base colouring
Hand painted
Identical decoration to the teacup I also have listed
Small, colourful spring flowers with foliage - very skilful artist work, visually this is a real stunner of a plate!
One prominent piece of artwork and two smaller artworks
Gold gilding to the scalloped rim (two lines)
Scalloped all around the rim
A very "bright & pleasant" dinner plate for display or, here's an idea, use it at your next special occasion.
We did use this plate (and others in the dinner set) a couple of times for that occasional very special get together with the grandparents
Makers mark (all Green) on the base is:
(British flag with DURABILITY printed across it diagonally)

COSMETIC CONDITION:
Excellent condition overall
NO chips or fleabites
NO discolouration
NO crazing
NO cracks
Gold gilding is in wonderful condition with no wear apparent at all
If I was to make any negative comment, I can see a couple (that's all) of extremely light knife cut marks in the glaze - certainly you need to look closely for these.
Artist and gilding ID marks on the base of the plate
