Wileman & Company was formed in 1872, using the name The Foley China.
In 1910, the Shelley's (Joseph & Percy) joined Wileman's and from 1910 onwards all of their products were backstamped as Shelley
The factory was located in Staffordshire

Backstamp would indicate this piece dates during the period 1938 ~ 1966 but we "feel" that due to similarity of design to other pieces we have, this is likely to be from the early 1950's

No pattern number or other markings except for the artist's marks
Bright White base background colouring
Heavily scalloped/folded sides with a finger handle at each end of the dish, typical Shelley design of the day, very delicate and dainty
Hand decorated by a skilled artist
Artist "marks" are on the underside, just above the backstamp design (dabs of Cream & Lime Green paint)
Lime Green on top of each side finger handle and all around the scalloped edge
Three different flower bud designs, one looks similar to a Rosemary and another Bluebells, flower colours are Pink/Red, Yellow/Mauve & Blue and all have some foliage included.
MEASUREMENTS:
128mm wide (including the finger handles) x 100mm x 25mm high
COSMETIC CONDITION:
NO crazing
NO cracks/chips
NO discolouration to the base White
NO wear or damage to the artwork
NO wear apparent to the Lime Green edge & finger handle colouring
