DLAT RATING: 9/10 (Darling Look At This!)
Dainty, delicate, very pleasing to the eye - like all ladies should be!
SHELLEY - Teacup ONLY
Actually it is a demitasse cup, meaning that it is approximately half the size of a standard English teacup - some call these "doll cups"
Circa 1950's
Fine Bone China
Design: Wild Flowers
Hand decorated
Wild flowers of the meadow, featuring those very English Bluebells and a variety of coloured Primroses with foliage. The delicate handle has been decorated a pale Blue, as has the inside of the teacup.
No Gold gilding is used
Brilliant White base china
Translucent (you can easily see the shadow of your fingers through the china when held to a light)
Circa period of 1938 ~ 1966 (based on the backstamp design) but we know for sure this teacup dates from the 1950's as we were gifted the duo but unfortunately the saucer went to that "pottery in the sky", alas it is no more of this earth.
Dimensions: 72mm (2 3/4") diameter mouth x 65mm height
BACKSTAMP DETAILS: (Pale Green)
FINE BONE CHINA

Very Good condition
I have given this side plate a DLAT rating of 9/10 because it is a "lonesome dove", pretty but ever so lonely - looking for a saucer soulmate!
NO cracks
NO crazing
NO damage to the artwork
NO wear to the hand decoration
This demitasse teacup is a great example of some lovely 'Shelleyware'
