Based on the information I could gather online, I believe this to have been made 1935 (makers mark and the D5559 series dating)
In excellent condition, no crazing, no chips, no discolouration - in fact I would even suggest it has not been used.
This piece was part of a collection of items my grandmother (an avid collector of Royal Doulton) bestowed to me, which comprised of mainly Toby Jugs but little bits and pieces like this one as well.
I am keeping the Toby's but not the little pieces.
It's a shame but I only have the ONE egg cup - not the more desirable 2 or more.
