ROSLYN CHINA - Saucer  ONLY

Fine Bone China

Bright White base china

Translucent, meaning that if held to a light source you can see the shadow of your fingers through the china

Pattern: Rustic Gem

Circa late 1950's ~ early 1960's (based on the backstamp)

Transferware

Design: Four groups of Pink & Blue flowers with foliage

We particularly liked the "shape" of the cup, nice ribbed sides instead of straight.

Gold gilding to the top scalloped rim, both sides & the back of the handle and around the base area

DIMENSIONS:

80mm diameter x 75mm height

CONDITION:

NO chips

NO cracks

NO crazing observed (both dry and wet tests)

NO damage to the artwork

NO tannin stains (discolouration due to the tea) in the base of the cup

Gold gilding is in very good condition in all areas, even the handle which often suffers the greatest 'wear n tear' - very nice!

Backstamp on the base:

Roslyn

Fine Bone

China

Rustic Gem

England

Followed by the numbers 8611 painted in Brown/Red, we assume this is the pattern number - it is certainly not the artist's mark
