Roslyn produced pottery at the Park Place Works, Longton.

Operating in the period 1946 ~ 1963

The Wheatcroft series was named after Harry Wheatcroft (1898-1977), a well known English rose grower.

Hand decorated with artist signature (R.S Durben)

Dimensions: 147mm diameter

"Grand Gala" red rose with green/pink foliage

Gold gilding on the outer scalloped edge

 

CONDITION:

NO chips

NO cracks

NO crazing

NO damage to the artwork

There is wear to one side/section of the gold gilding. Just one section 6cm long, as though the hand held this cup many many times in the same spot! No wear showing to other parts of the gilding at all.

Factory artists mark is present, just for the graphic work but none for the gold gilding. These marks were used to identify the workers "pieces" as they were paid "per piece" not by the hour!
