The Ridgway family was one of the important dynasties manufacturing Staffordshire pottery, with a large number of family members and business names, over a period from the 1790s to the late 20th century. While this teacup from our duo is a very late production piece from one of the Ridgway potteries, it represents a significant piece of English pottery history spanning 200 years.

Gold gilder's "mark" to the side of the backstamp
CONDITION:
Clean
NO cracks
NO crazing
NO discolouration*
NO wear or damage to the artwork
Gold gilding is in very good condition all around i.e scalloped mouth rim, base and the handle - often the part that commonly suffers wear due to the "little pinky" but this cup shows no wear.
* I do notice a strange grey/blue "mark" on the unside of the teacup, around the edge of the backstamp area. If you take a look at the underneath photograph and look up from the Crown slightly to the left - I cannot figure out what it is, certainly not a crack or similar but it can be seen. All attempts at cleaning this have resulted in no change at all.
