We believe this is handpainted. Although at first glance it looks to be transferware, the identical artwork on each side of the cup differ in subtle ways ( branches at different angles, slightly different colouring used - just small differences that you wouldn't expect in transferware. Artist mark on the base - this is also a clue to the artistic creation because artists marked their products as they were paid "per piece" completed.
