HISTORY:
We are cleaning out our "overgrown" collection of English (mainly) chinaware because we have quality chinaware coming out of our ears! Some pieces/collections have been kept but others must find new homes to accommodate our latest passion - fine, artistic chinaware (hand painted of course)
This is one piece that must find a new home to cherish, adore and just for fun - use it!
To offer the utmost flexibility, pieces are being offered individually because from experience, often only one piece is needed and not a complete set or trio for example. However if you are looking for a set, just search my advertisements for others of the same maker/design.
Originally a design of Chinese origin, then Johnson Brothers produced their own local UK product.
Extremely collectable, even back many years ago Queen Mary II began collecting the Chinese chinaware, putting these into her custom made "china cabinet"
One of the most recognisable designs in old English dinnerwares and in its day, very common to see especially in the "better" hotels of Britain.
Based on the backstamp, these teacups date from the 1940's - 50's although the backstamp started being used in 1912. Dating Blue Willow accurately can be extremely difficult and must take into account the design, number of various subjects within the design but we originally inherited these from extended family members and they bought these back in the 1940's just after WWII had ceased.
