Classic J&G Meakin Sunshine (SOL) product
Not only hand painted decoration but depicting a well known couple in history.
The standing gentlemen is Napoleon and he is with the love of his life, Josephine. Napoleon was intensely in love with Josephine, his love letters were very passionate and their love affair was explosive at the time. This is some 100 years prior to the creation of this dish.

Circa 1950's - this famous backstamp had been used since 1912 but the Sunshine series were produced 1940 ~ 1963

Hand painted
Cream background
Pronounced scalloped edge with gold gilding
Ribbed sides flowing towards the central artwork
Measurements: 150mm diameter and 35mm height
COSMETIC CONDITION:
NO cracks
NO flea bites
NO chips
NO marks or discolouration to the artwork
NO crazing observed
Gold gilding is hand applied and at times, uneven but it is NOT worn at all. If I were to rate the gold gilding, I mark this 9/10 - it is in extremely good condition
