S Fielding & Co (1879 ~ 1982) used the trading name, Crown Devon for their products - produced at the Devon works
The backstamp indicates a manufacture after 1939 but we imagine this was produced around the mid 1940's after WWII was over - this was a time when after 6 years of austerity and tough times during the war, it was time to offer bright cheerful china and this dish certainly is that!
DLAT Rating: 10/10 (Darling Look At This!)
Superb dish for which we are seeking a new home for as we used it a few times since obtaining it in 1960's! Perfect as a dining table centre piece, we used to set it off with small colourful fruits such as cherries, green & black grapes and Dragonfruit (white & red varieties) Just stunning visually!
