Burleighware

Estimated circa 1960's

Bright White base porcelain

Victorian Chintz pattern (Mono coloured Pink/Red Damask roses and primroses with foliage)

This design originates from the 18th Century although of course, the piece does not.

Transferware

NOTE: This transferware is quite 'coarse' in texture with small dots or lines used in the creation of the design, almost as though the transfer medium was cloth based, not a film.

Makers backstamp (in the same Red as the main design) reads:

Chintz

(Within the outline of a large flower bloom)

                        Burleigh

STAFFORDSHIRE
