BACKGROUND:
Avon Ware was a registered trade name of Avon Art Pottery Ltd, located in Longton and beginning operations in 1930
A very creative potter, many of their products have a distinctly artistic "feel", particularly the character jugs and animal figures.
While this is "just" a small dish, part of their tableware range, it has been beautifully hand painted - truly eye catching!
DLAT Rating: 9/10 (Darling Look At This!)

We were given this piece (along with some gorgeous character jugs) so we do not know exactly when it was produced but based on the design and the approximate time span this backstamp was used, we suspect it is from the 1950's, just after "the War"
