Robert Gordon Pottery is based in Victoria and has been in operation for many years in various forms.

Considered quite collectable Australiana but we need the space for our English fine china so this vase must find a new home.

Actually we have another Robert Gordon if you would like to take a look HERE

ROBERT GORDON POTTERY

Design: Orchard Blossom Series

Apricot coloured flowers with pale green foliage. Top rim edge is also decorated in a brown ~ cream design

Hand painted - I checked this carefully and it is quite easy to see that each blossom is different to the other two and the artwork does not have that "made by a machine" look!

Circa 1990's (we purchased this piece in the late 1990's)

Medium vase

Measures: 148mm height x 125mm diameter at the widest point. In my opinion this is a small to medium size vase.

Mouth opening is 55mm diameter

BACKSTAMP DETAILS:

Impression stamped

This is quite unusual as the other pieces of Robert Gordon pottery that we had were all print backstamped and I had a look around at other people's Orchard Blossom pieces and they all have printed backstamps, even exactly the same piece as this vase.

Not only has it been impression stamped, it has not been undertaken very well! While the vase and decorative craftspersonship is of a high standard, the backstamp impression looks like it was made in a hurry and applied far too heavily by whoever 'threw' this vase prior to firing. This makes it quite hard to read/figure out what you are looking at but in fact the backstamp is:

COSMETIC CONDITION:

NO chips

NO cracks

NO discolouration

NO crazing to the glaze

NOTE: I noticed while inspecting the vase that the glaze is just ever so slightly 'patchy' in the centre of each blossom (brown ~ green colouring), sort of 'bubbly' as though the glaze did not properly adhere to the oxide colouring at this point. Each blossom is the same. No other portions of the artwork are affected, including the rim which has very similar colouring as the centre of the blossoms.

Condition exactly as described Non-returnable used product
