Striking design and colouring, representing a pansy flower.
Very high lustre glaze which looks almost like art glass
Ceramic Art
Violet/Dark Blue Pansy
Potter is unknown to us, Beverly xxxx (indistinct on the piece) But does it really matter? This is a very well crafted piece which we bought some years ago for the beauty of the piece, not the artist!
This is studio art pottery, hand made and decorated
Highly skilled crafts(person)ship with minute attention to detail
The pansy is a very deep blue/violet bordering on black, olive green leaves
Very high lustre glaze, at first glance you may think this is art glass but no! a look underneath clearly shows it is based on white clay, signed inside/underneath
The artists mark is quite difficult to read but I believe it says
Beverly Ford (?)
95
The piece measures: 180mm at the widest points
Slight tilt to the piece, this means that when it is placed on a flat surface, the flower is tilted at an angle for easy viewing.
NO cracks
NO discolouration
ONE very small chip underneath - the glaze/colouring is missing in one very small "spot" underneath, this is extremely small and not easy to see.
