Australian ceramic maker, Fowler Potteries began operations in 1837 supplying various pipes and similar items. In early 1937 the company launched their Fowler Ware range of kitchen accessories which was a very successful venture for the company. Just about every Australian kitchen had at least some Fowler Ware, this was well before the days of plastic storage containers from the local supermarket!
When you hold this mixing bowl in your hands, you are holding a very nice piece of 80 year old Australiana and guess what? it still works! Although much heavier than modern plastics, this mixing bowl is perfectly useable.
