Greg Lipman was born 1938, lived in Hurstville and is now considered a "investment artist"
Here is some information from a sheet attached to the back of the painting:
Greg (Gregory) Lipman has won numerous awards and had his artwork sold at the Opera House, also featuring in many Australian magazines.
He was well known for developing and creating scenes on refrigerators and freezers!
He was one of only three artists selected for the Australian Masters Art Collection, being in the company of Pro Hart and Lindsay Norman.
He has had his paintings sold from exhibitions for Princess Ira Von Furstenberg and the Cornucopia Committee Foundation 41.
I suggest looking at worldcat.org for more information regarding where to find his biography⁄ISBN's etc
He owned Australia's largest art school.
He is very diversified, painting from landscapes to animals to protraits and childrens work.
Uses all media including pencil, pen⁄ink, watercolour, oil and acrylics.
The history of this painting is that I discovered it a number of years ago at a deceased estate clearance but it is in a lousy frame and the border has been made too wide, covering up the artists signature.
It doesn't look all that special until you take it out of the frame, a treasure awaits you!
The watercolour is absolutely genuine and original, the paper stock is correct and you can even see some of his watercolour which splashed onto the rear of the stock.
Interesting technique used to paint this artwork and great subject matter!
I have included photographs of the FULL artwork clearly showing the signature, the rear with the watercolour splashes and tried to show closeups of his watercolour technique used in the artwork.
This is a gem of a painting, quality work⁄artist but poorly framed - a great example of the old saying "don't judge a book by its cover"
Our space is limited, we don't have any spare wall space to display our current artworks (our favourites are very fine art from the likes of Michael Taylor) so I want this to find a new home that will appreciate this very collectable Australian talent.
You can find out more about Mr Lipman at this website - http:⁄⁄fineartamerica.com⁄profiles⁄greg-lipman.html
You will soon notice that this painting is a very good buy at the price we are asking
