Artist is unknown but this piece of very Australian art is just stunning
The base used is the root of the West Australian Mallee tree (Australian Eucalypt family)
Onto the Mallee root, the artist has very skillfully hand painted a Corella, sitting on a branch of a eucalyptus tree.
The artwork has been protected by multiple layers of clear protective lacquer which gives the artwork a very high sheen, and it is easy to keep clean!
The artwork is oil based.
The rear of the piece has a metal mounting bracket - this item is quite heavy and is intended for wall hanging although we just have it sitting on a shelf in the lounge.
Dimensions:
370mm high x 290mm wide x 20mm thick
Mallee root base
There is no damage to either the artwork or the Mallee root timber (no splits etc)
