HISTORY:
Our family is very much into "the Arts" in all it's forms, from music to art to chinaware and even classic old (quality) technology!
Our focus has always been landscapes, both Australian and New Zealand but along the years we also have some other "interesting" pieces of art that will be seeking new homes as well.
Our walls are overloaded with art and it's time to put up some new works so many of our collection must now find new homes to love and cherish them.
This original oil is one of those artworks.
FRANK MITCHELL:
Born in Sydney, 1937. He studied at the National Art School, Sydney and then taught art. He has held over 50 successful exhibitions of his work, his focus being landscape art but later he broadened into steam trains and he is widely considered as one of the world's leading artists in this genre. His works are generally oils but he has also produced acrylic art. His earlier landscape artworks tended to be of scenes around the NSW area, particularly the coastal regions as he has spent most of his life in NSW.
This particular artwork from Frank depicts Rosedale Beach, which is South of Sydney, in the Eurobodalla district. This beach is notable for the rock formations along the beach and headlands.
We also have another painting from Frank, also featuring the Eurobodalla district HERE
