Noteable Australian Landscape and Figurative artist
WERNER FILIPICH
ARTWORK HISTORY:
Our family is very much into "the Arts" in all it's forms, from music to art to chinaware and even classic old (quality) technology!
Our focus has always been landscapes, both Australian and New Zealand but over the years we also have collected some other "interesting" pieces of art that will be seeking new homes as well.
Back in the 1990's we purchased two of Werner's paintings from a Sydney dealer, one has already "left home" (Eroded Turon River Banks) and now it is time for this painting to also find a new home.
Our walls are becoming overcrowded with artworks and although we love just about every painting we have, it's time to put up some new acquisitions (we adore Michael Taylor's works!) so many of our collection must now find new homes to love and cherish them.
This original oil is one of those artworks which sadly must now leave home!
WERNER FILIPICH:
Emigrated to Australia from Austria in the 1950. Werner has not only been a professional artist for over 50 years, he also represented Australia in the World Surfing Championships and was very active in the hairdressing industry. His passion for Australia shows in every painting he creates, the subjects initially being coastal and rural scenes but since those earlier days he has also moved into using figures in his artworks, particularly beach scenes.
Werner and his artworks have received many many awards over the years and he is still actively creating beautiful art for us all to enjoy.
His works are very well considered, adorning the walls of private homes, art galleries and corporate offices in Australia and overseas. His works have been included in all five editions of Kevin Hill’s “TOP TEN” Australian Artists.
You can view some other beautiful artistic creations from Werner HERE and you will also notice that this artwork is being offered at a considerably lower price than those on offer in the art market at the moment. Not only are Werner's artworks a joy to own and view, they make a good investment choice as well (we did not pay anything like those prices in the 1990's)
WERNER FILIPICH - Razor Back Panorama
Razor Back locality is in the Sydney surrounds, heading towards Maldon, Picton sort of area (rough guide)
Original Oil on board
Werner's distinctive signature is in the bottom left corner (Red)
Artwork measurements: 215mm wide x 117mm high
Frame measurements: 368mm wide x 267mm high
Frame is wooden with gold gilding
Artwork is clean
HOWEVER, there is one small fault which must be bought to your attention!
Look at the closeup photograph (no frame) and just above the signature is a small white area, eh gads man! A flake of paint has come off showing the white underneath! Of course you can notice it but the eye doesn't get trapped by this white "spot", it is actually quite easy to miss this fault with the eye.
This is not a paint defect but instead a totally human error which occurred when we moved a number of years ago and the removalist didn't take care with this painting and it apparently got a "knock"!
The thought of a "touch up" came to mind but we decided to leave well alone, no "repair" attempts have been made.
There is no other fault with the artwork!
The heavy wooden frame is in very good condition and also undamaged.
Cloth border is clean and without "spotting"
Nylon cord is attached to the rear, ready to hang and be admired once again!
Shipping is no problem, unlike the removalist experience we had (mentioned above) we DO take great care in packing especially delicate items such as this painting.
