Gene Pierson was Italian born (Giancarlo Salvestrin) who was in the music industry primarily for the money, sure he was a performer but his motives were to make money and lots of it!
He lived in Australia and then moved over to New Zealand for around 4 years, achieving success in the Pop genre with much of his music being released through the infamous pirate radio station Radio Hauraki, the first private commercial radio station in NZ - want to know more? Go Here
Gene came back to Australia in 1969 and one of his releases was this cover of Reach Out (the Motown classic) but as was the mood at the time, the song was released with a psychedelic reworking.
I have included a very freaky film clip I found from the TV show Bandstand - those dancers are very very ethereal! Love the phasing, lead guitar screaming out! I bet the audience's eyes popped out when they saw this performance.

Generic OLD Festival record label cover is in good condition, light paper "rot" to the very top edge
New inner plastic sleeve
Vinyl is in very good condition, visually inspected and I can see a couple of very light scratches on each side. The only real way to tell is to play the ENTIRE record, both sides, and there are no significant problems at all with surface noise or clicks/pops - another psychedelic trip down memory lane!
